William Goody
William was born in 1838. William's father was
William Goody and his mother was
Elizabeth Utting. His paternal grandparents were

Mary Ann. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.

Parish records show that he was christened on 11th November 1838 in St Andrews Church, Halstead, Essex by Horace Roberts, who spelt his surname Goodey. His father, William, was a Bricklayer at the time.
1841 Census shows that he was 2 years of age and living in Halstead, Essex.
