She was born at 16 Knott Street, Stepney, London, England and christened at St Faith's Church, Shandy Street, Stepney on 15th April 1902 by C H Mylne.

She was living in Tarrant House, 9 Roman Road, Bethnal Green, London at the time of her death at 84 years of age. She died in Bancroft Road Hospital, Stepney. She is buried in Manor Park Cemetery. In the same grave are the ashes of her husband, Daniel Thomas.
