Irene was born on March 11th, 1929.  Irene's father was William Joseph Goody and her mother was Frances Babbington.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Goody and Emma Anna Suckling. She had a brother and two sisters, named William, Joyce and Maureen.  She is the second oldest of the four children.
