General Notes

Emma was born on May 18th, 1873.  Emma's father was William Suckling and her mother was Catherine Jane Scurr.  Her paternal grandparents were William Suckling and Mary Waller. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William, James, Catherine and Thirza.  She was the second oldest of the five children.
Birth was registered between April-June 1873 in Mile End Registration District.
She was born at 55 Robert Street, Mile End Old Town, Stepney, London.  Her father, William was a Seaman at the time.  She was christened in St Thomas' Church, Stepney on 15th June 1873 which is the same day as her sister Catherine Jane (born 1871).
1881 Census shows that she was 8 years of age, born in Bow, Middlesex and living at 22 Box Street, London.
1891 Census shows that she was 19 years of age and living in Mile End Old Town Western, London.
1911 Census shows that she was 38 years of age, born in Stepney, London and living at 140 Elsa Street, Limehouse, London.
When you look at the addresses where her children were born it is obvious that the family moved house many times.

Death Notes

Died of a cerebral thrombosis due to a cheroma.  Certified by W R N Heldy, a coroner of London Eastern District after a post mortem but without an inquest. 
Harry (her son) registered Emma's death on 23rd October 1945, and F. Carter was the registrar.
Emma was residing at 75 Apsley Street, Stepney at the time of her death at 73 years of age.  She was buried in grave number R5001 on 29th October 1945 in Tower Hamlets Cemetery, Southern Grove, Mile End, London. Died at the age of 72 on October 21st, 1945.

Emma and Henry were married on March 25th, 1894.  They had three sons and three daughters, named John, Daniel, William, Emma, Anne and Cecilia.
Married in St Paul's Church, Burdett Road, Bow Common, London, England by Roland Newman.  The witnesses were George Gilman and Emily Cordell.
Emma was living at 2 Hope Place, Stepney and Henry at 25 Duckett Street, Stepney at the time of their marriage.
