Ruth and Joseph were married on May 27th, 1828.  They had two sons and five daughters, named Charles, James, Caroline, Eliza, Harriett, Mary and Sarah.
Parish records show they were married in St Mary's Church, Ovington, Essex on 27th May 1828 by Charles Fisher and show that Joseph was a widower.
The witnesses were George Brown and Mary Brown.
Joseph, Ruth, George and Mary were all illiterate.
