James Parker Haldane
James was born on September 16th, 1917. James' father was
John Haldane and his mother was
Margaret Ann Parker. His paternal grandparents were
John Haldane and
Mary Marshall; his maternal grandparents were
John Parker and
Isabella Charlton. He had a sister named
Florence. He was the younger of the two children.
Birth was registered between Oct-Dec 1917 in Tynemouth Registration District. He was born at 15 Plessey View, Blyth, Northumberland. His father, John was a Bakery Manager at the time of his birth.
Occupation Details
He served in the Royal Engineers from 13th June 1939 to 30th September 1942. He then transferred to REME and trained as an Electrical Engineer.
He worked for several electrical engineering firms in Britain and then obtained a position as a Manager with West African Engineering Co Ltd in Ghana in 1957. He lived and worked there until he retired in 1983.
Death Notes
He died of Emphysema in Blawarthill Hospital, Glasgow.
Died at the age of 85 on August 28th, 2003.
