Female Ruth Goody

Ruth was born in 1802.  Ruth's father was John Goody and her mother is Anne Parker.  Her paternal grandfather is Thomas Goody and her paternal grandmother was Martha ?????. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named John, Henry, Joseph, Elizabeth, Frances, Mary, Frances, Sarah, Lydia and Hannah.  She was the nineth oldest of the eleven children.

General Notes

Parish records show that she was christened in St Margaret's Church, Tilbury-Juxta-Clare, Essex on 27th June 1802.
1841 Census shows that she was 35 years of age and living in Ridgwell, Essex.
1851 Census shows that she was 48 years of age, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and living in Ridgwell, Essex.

Occupation Details

1851 census shows she was a Straw Plaiter.

Death Notes

Death was registered between April-June 1858 in Halstead Registration District. Died at the age of 56 in 1858.

Ruth's family with William Laver

Ruth and William were married on November 12th, 1820.  They had two sons and four daughters, named John, Fredrick, Elizabeth, Lydia, Deborah and Matilda.
Parish records show that they wee married in St Margaret's Church, Tilbury Juxta Clare on 12th November 1820 by Charles Fisher.
The witnesses were Giles Winch and Lydia Goody.  Lydia is shown as being Ruth's mother but was in fact her sister.
William, Ruth, Giles and Lydia were all illiterate.
