Male James Goody

James was born in 1785.  James' father was Joseph Goody and his mother was Ann Wicker. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, William, Ann and Bridget.  He was the third oldest of the five children.

General Notes

Parish records show that he was christened in St Andrews Church, Halstead, Essex on 29th March 1785.
1851 Census shows that he was 63 years of age, born in Halstead, Essex and living at 109 High Street, Halstead, Essex and the surname is spelt GOODEY.

Occupation Details

Parish records at the time of his son Robert's marriage to Emma Evans show that James was a Thatcher.
In 1814 he was a Wheelwright.
1851 Census shows that he was a Wheelwright employing 1 man.

James and Sarah were married on October 24th, 1811.  They had five sons and seven daughters, named James, Alfred, Jabez, Frederic, Charles, Sarah, Matilda, Mary, Thermutha, Emma, Charlotte and Angelina.
Parish records show that they were married in St Andrews Church, Halstead, Essex on 24th October 1811.
