Male Alfred Cawstone Goody

Alfred was born on November 16th, 1826.  Alfred's father was Jesse Goody and his mother was Ann Elizabeth Gooding.  His paternal grandparents are Samuel Goody and Frances Causton. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Jesse, John, Ann, Charlotte and Harriet.  He was the third oldest of the six children.

Parish records show that he was christened in Peckham Hanover Independent chapel, Camberwell, Surrey on 13th April 1827.
1841 Census shows that he was 14 years of age and living iin Peckham, Camberwell, Surrey.
1851 Census shows that he was 24 years of age, born in Camberwell, Surrey and living in Glenford, Cottage Green Lane, Camberwell, Surrey.
1861 Census shows that he was 34 years of age, born in Peckham, Surrey and living in 18 Huntingdon Street, Finsbury, Islington, London.
1871 Census shows that he was 44 years of age and living in Islington, Islington West.
1881 Census shows he was 54 years of age, born in Priham, Surrey and living in 10 Royal Crescent, Pannal, North Yorkshire.
National Probate and Will records show the following:
26 January The will of Alfred Cawston Goody formerly of the Old Bank, Ludlow in the County of Salop Gentleman but late of 10 Royal Crescent, Pannal in the County of York Bank Manager who died 4 January 1888 at 10 Royal Crescent was proved at Wakefield by Elizabeth Mary Wilhelmine Goody of 10 Royal Crescent Widow the Relict the sole Executrix. Personal Estate £1,126 8s 6d.

Occupation Details

1851 Census shows that he was a Bankers Clerk.
Parish records at the time of his marriage show that he was a Clerk.
1881 Census shows he was a Bank Manager.

Death Notes

Death was registered between Jan-Mar 1888 in Knaresborough Registration District at 61 years of age.
He was residing at 10 Royal Crescent, Pannal, Yirkshire at the time of his death. Died at the age of 62 on 4th January 1888.

Alfred's first family with Caroline Jemima Duncan

Alfred and Caroline were married in a religious & civil ceremony on April 11th, 1857.  They had a son and two daughters, named Alfred, Caroline and Georgina.
Marriage was registered between April-June 1857 in Islington Registration District.
Parish records show that they were married in St Mary's Church, Islington, Middlesex on 11th April 1857 by D F Wilson.
The witnesses were J P Goody and Benjamin Duncan.
Alfred is shown as being a bachelor and residing at 16 Albert Terrace, St Paul's Road, Islington, Middlesex.
Caroline is shown as being a spinster and residing in Worth, Sussex.
