He had two sisters named Elizabeth and Maria.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Victor and Rosanna.

1861 Census shows that he was 3 years of age, born in Layer Bocking, Essex and living at Bayor Road, Bocking, Essex under the surname GOODDY.
Parish records at the time of his marriage to Emma show that his father's name was John GOODDY and that he was a Police Constable.
1881 Census shows that he was 23 years of age, born in Braintree, Essex and living at 9 Ridgeley Road, Hammersmith, London under the surname GOODY.

Death Notes

Death was registered between Jan-Mar 1885 in Hendon Registration District at 27 years of age.
He was buried on 16th March 1885 at Willesden Church, London, the undertakers were Crook, Market Place Kilburn; Stanmore Terrace, High Road, Kilburn, London. Died at the age of 27 on March 10th, 1885.
