Male William Harold Bamforth

William was born on March 21st, 1897.  William's father was William Henry Bamforth and his mother is Hetty Ann Micklethwaite.  He is an only child.

General Notes

Birth was registered between with Apr-Jun 1897 in Huddersfield Registration District under the name HAROLD BALMFORTH.
1911 Canadian Census shows that he was 14 years of age, born in March 1897 and living in South East ¼ Section 5. It also shows that he was a Methodist, that he emigrated to Canada in 1906, had become a naturalised Canadian, had been in scholl for 9 months during 1910, was literate and English was his native language.
1916 Canadian Census shows his surname as BLAMFORTH,  that he was 19 years of age, born in England and living at Park Street, Kamsack, Saskatchewan, Canada.  It also shows that he was a Presbyterian, that he emigrated to Canada in 1906, had become a naturalised Canadian, was literate and English was his native language.  He was unable to speak French.
On 18th May 1918 he was drafted into the 1st Depot Battalion Saskatchewan Regiment under the name William Harold BALMFORTH, his regimental number was 268469.  His date of birth is shown as 21st March 1897, that he was born in Slaithewaite, England and that he was residing in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, Canada.  He is shown as being single, religion - Church of England and that he was a Fireman.  His next of kin is shown as William BALMFORTH, his father whose address is shown as Kamsack Post Office.  He was examined in Regina on 18th May 1918 and classed as Category A2.  His decsription on the Attestation form shows that his apparent age was 21 years and 2 months, he was 5foot 7inches in height, his chest measurement fully expanded was 35½ inches and the range of expansion was 2½ inches.  His complexion is shown as medium, eyes - brown and hair - brown.
