Occupation Details
Hawker
At the time of his death he was residing at 75 Apsley Street, Stepney aged 53. After playing shove-halfpenny, one of his favourite games, in Clair Hall on Saturday May 21st 1950 he returned home and was later found dead. He died of Lysol poisoning whilst in a confused state of mind. We believe this was taken as a stimulant mixed with other alcoholic drinks, for it is commonly thought by his family that he was an alcoholic, and we would like to believe his death was due to misadventure rather than deliberate suicide.
He is buried in grave number R5573 in Tower Hamlets Cemetery, Southern Grove, Mile End, London.
Died in an accident or as a result of an injury at the age of 53 on May 21st, 1950.
