Alfred Brandon Goody
Alfred was born on February 16th, 1835. Alfred's father was
Daniel Goody and his mother was
Sarah Simpson Wood. His paternal grandparents were
Daniel Goody and
Anne Siggins. He had a brother and a sister, named
Edwin and
Emily. He was the oldest of the three children.
Christened in St Dunstan & All Saints Church, Stepney on 16th February 1835, but the baptism register does not show his date of birth.
He was named after his half brother, Alfred who died in 1831 at about one year of age, the first Alfred was born to his mother Sarah and her first husband, Abraham Rodrigues Brandon.
1841 Census shows that he was 7 years of age and living in Ratcliffe, Stepney, Middlesex.
In the 1881 Census he was shown as 46 years of age, born in Stepney and living at 1 Ewing Street, Mile End Old Town, London.
1891 Census shows that his wife Mary Ann was living with their daughters Julia Cowen and Emily Hawkins at 13 Lillian Street, Stoke Newington, London, we believe that he had deserted Mary Ann and was now living with Margaret as shown in the 1901 Census.
